Cookie Contest

Mini Cookie & Dip Bake-off

Think small cookies can’t make a big impression? Prove it! Bakers are invited to compete in our Mini Cookie & Dip Bake-Off, where creativity, flavor, and presentation take center stage.

Create a batch of mini cookies, baked onsite at the fair, and pair them with one or more delicious dips. Your entry should showcase both the cookie and the dip as a complementary combination.

Cookie requirements

• Cookies must be mini-sized, no larger than approximately 2 inches across. You may cook more than one type of cookie if time allows.
• Cookies must be prepared and baked onsite at the fair.
• Cookies may be any flavor, shape, or style.
• Creative flavors and decorations are encouraged!

Dip requirements

• Each entry must include at least one dip designed to complement the cookie(s).
• Dips may be sweet, creamy, fruity, chocolate-based, or another appropriate dessert style.
• Dips must be prepared onsite. Dips may not be store bought.

• Please provide your receipt for King Arthur brand flour.
• Contestants must bring their own ingredients, mixing tools, measuring equipment, baking sheets, and other necessary supplies. The fair will provide ovens.
• Cookies must be baked onsite in the Zions Building.
• Dips must be maid onsite.
• Please present 12-24 mini cookies along with at least one (1) dip for tasting and judging. Cookies must be no larger than 2" wide.
• Exhibitors must comply with safe food handling guidelines, and should obtain a food handlers permit.
• Submit two (2) copies of your recipe, printed or typed on 8 1/2" x 11" white paper; one with recipe only and one with your recipe, name, address and phone numbers. Be specific with amount of servings, measurements, directions and sizes of cans and packages.
• Contest is open to any adult 18 yrs or older.
• All recipes and entries become the property of the Utah State Fair, who reserve the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, or advertise the recipes and the names of the contestants without compensation.
• Employees of the Utah State Fair, its affiliates, subsidiaries and families are not eligible.
• With entry submission, you accept all Contest rules and agree to be bound by the judges' decisions, which will be final.
