The new dairy cattle testing requirements, as provided by the Utah Department of Agriculture and State Veterinarians, is as follows:
- All entries must present a valid negative HPAI (H5N1) bulk tank test from any lactating herd where they have been housed. (A negative influenza matrix result is acceptable)
- A negative individual test is required for each lactating cow coming into Utah from an affected or provisionally unaffected state (CA, ID, TX, ND, FL, or NC), including Utah.
- Test results are valid for 7 days after the sample date.
- Test reports must be presented to the UDAF representative upon entry to the fairgrounds, before unloading.
