To ensure a respectful and consistent experience for all audiences, National Anthem performances at the Utah State Fair must follow the guidelines below:
Performance Length

Performances should be approximately 60–90 seconds.

Extended, embellished, or improvised versions may not be approved.
Tempo & Style

The Anthem should be performed at a traditional, dignified tempo.

Performances should be respectful and audience-appropriate.

Excessive vocal runs, stylistic reinterpretations, or altered melodies are discouraged.
Lyrics & Arrangement

The official lyrics of “The Star-Spangled Banner” must be used.

Lyrics may not be altered.

The melody must remain recognizable and true to the original composition.
Instrumentation
