Location: Demonstration Kitchen in the Zion Building

Official Rules

  • Judging will be based on:
    • Originality 20%
    • Appearance/Presentation 30%
    • Taste Appeal 50%
  • Entries are limited to the first ten (10) people.
  • Three (3) Oakdell Eggs will be supplied to each contestant. A variety of cooking oils, salt, and pepper will be on site for contestant use, but contestants are encouraged to supply their own.
  • Contestants are responsible for bringing:
    • Any additional ingredients that you believe will give you the winning dish
    • All cooking vessels, cooking utensils, and serving dish/plate.
  • All food must be cooked on-site.
  • Food must be presented to judges on a plate or platter.
  • Exhibitors must comply with safe food handling guidelines, and should obtain a food handlers permit.
  • The contest is open to any resident, except professional chefs or culinary instructors.
  • All recipes and entries become the property of the Utah State Fair, which reserves the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, or advertise the recipes and the names of the contestants without compensation.
  • Employees of Oakdell Egg Farms or the Utah State Fair, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and families are not eligible.
  • Only one contestant per household or address.
  • Taxes are the responsibility of the winner.
  • With entry submission, you accept all Contest rules and agree to be bound by the judge's decisions, which will be final.
  • A W9 will be required from any winning contestants.
