What will be open for school groups?
School groups may enter the Fair before regular public operating hours. During this time, interactive educational exhibits, competitive exhibit buildings, livestock barns, and the showring will be open for school group visits.
Please be aware that some Fair attractions do not open until regular public hours, including carnival rides, food and commercial vendors, and most grounds entertainment.
PLEASE NOTE: Wednesday is designated as Special Friends Morning and special programming is reserved for special-needs groups that have registered in advance.
Can home schools and online schools qualify for the school rate?
Students currently enrolled in a K–12 online school or homeschool program are welcome to participate in the Utah State Fair School Field Trip Program during designated field trip dates and hours.
Because online-school and homeschool students generally attend with their individual households rather than as one coordinated school group, eligibility is determined by the number of participating K–12 students in each household.
The school field trip rate includes:
$1 admission for each verified K–12 student
$1 admission for one accompanying adult per household
One additional discounted adult for households attending with four or more participating K–12 students
Additional adults, nonparticipating siblings and other family members must purchase regular Fair admission. Children who qualify for free admission under the Fair’s regular admission policy will remain free.
Families must provide current documentation showing that each participating student is enrolled in an online school or homeschool program. Acceptable documentation may include a current enrollment confirmation, student portal page, school-issued identification, district homeschool affidavit, exemption certificate or equivalent documentation.
Additional adult support may be approved for students with disabilities, medical needs or individual support requirements.
Can we eat lunch at the Fair?
Schools are welcome to bring sack lunches onto the Fairpark grounds. A designated lunch storage area is available in front of the Administration Building; however, refrigeration is not provided.
Picnic tables are available along the Center Mall and throughout the Fairpark. School groups may also use available grass areas for lunch.
For additional questions about school group visits, please contact the Fair office at 801-538-8400.
Where do we park?
Complimentary parking is available for school buses, clearly marked school vehicles (charter vehicle, large passenger vans, etc.) and approved chaperone vehicles immediately following the school bus upon arrival.
To receive complimentary parking, chaperone vehicles must arrive with the school group and enter directly behind the bus. Chaperone vehicles arriving separately or at a different time are subject to regular Fair parking rates.
Online-school and homeschool families arriving individually in personal vehicles are subject to regular Fair parking rates. Free street parking is available.
Buses must park on the west side of Lot C (enter off 1000 West). See Map
School groups will enter through Gate C (near the Days of 47 Arena). See Map
Can school groups arrive on TRAX?
