Do we need to register?
No need to register, but you must enter through the appropriate gates (C or 6)
Our field trips are self-guided.
Where do we enter?
School groups arriving by bus or vehicle enter through Gate C, located next to the Days of 47 Arena).
School groups taking Trax can enter through Gate 6
What days/times are school groups allowed to enter?
School groups can visit from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the following dates:
Thursday, Sept. 4
Friday, Sept. 5
Monday, Sept. 8
Tuesday, Sept. 9
Wednesday, Sept. 10**
Thursday, Sept. 11
Friday, Sept. 12
Sorry, school group admission rates are not offered on weekends.
**Special Friends Day is Wednesday morning, with programming and rides specifically for our registered special needs guests. For more information about this day please see utahstatefair.com/specialfriends
How do schools pay?
School groups must pay with cash, one school check, money order or credit card in one transaction (no personal checks will be accepted). No pre-payments will be accepted.
Please select one group representative to pay for all admission. Be prepared to provide the school name, address, phone number, number of students and number of chaperones.
Chaperones must pay with the group to qualify for the $1.00 rate, separate payments are not allowed.
What will be open for school groups?
School groups are allowed into the Fair before public hours. Interactive educational exhibits, competitive exhibit buildings, barns, and the showring will be open for school groups.
Some areas of the Fair do not open until public hours including rides, vendors, and most grounds entertainment.
**Please note Wednesday is Special Friends Morning, specifically programmed for special needs groups that registered to participate in advance.
Can home schools qualify for the school rate?
Yes, we do allow home schools at the same times and dates as traditional school groups. Please bring your school district waiver or letter. Read the Fiend Trip Guide for rules and additional details.
Can we eat lunch at the Fair?
Schools are welcome to bring their own lunches onto the grounds. Lunch storage is available in the Administration Building. We are sorry but no refrigeration is available.
If a lunch area is needed, picnic tables are located on the Center Mall and throughout the Fairpark. Grass areas may also be utilized as lunch areas.

Where do we park?
Parking is free to buses, marked school vehicles, and any chaperone vehicles immediately following the buses.
Buses need to park on the west side of Lot C (enter off 1000 West). See Map
Any groups not entering with the busses or marked school vehicles must pay to park at $15 per vehicle. Free street parking is available.
School groups should enter through Gate C (near the Days of 47 Arena). See Map
