In an 8", 9" or 10" disposable pan, bake your best fruit pie.
Crust can be single, double, or a mix. No raw or uncooked eggs will be allowed in the finished product.
Exhibitors must bring their prepared pie to the Zion Building at 7:00 PM.
All preparation is to be done at home. Only warm up for judging will be done at the Fairpark.
Submit two copies of your recipe, printed or typed on 8 1/2"x11" white paper; one with the recipe only and one with the recipe, name, address and phone number. Recipes should be named, original, unpublished, the sole property of entrant and not previously submitted to any other contest. Recipes should clearly list all ingredients with measurements and state preparation instructions with baking/cooking times and number of servings.
All recipes become the property of the Utah State Fair, who reserve the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, or advertise the recipe, photos, and the names of the contestants without compensation.
The Utah State Fair are not responsible for lost, stolen, illegible, misdirected or late entries. By entering the contest entrant accepts and agrees to these rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final.
The contest is intended for amateur bakers only. Professional bakers or those who earn income from baking may not enter the contest. Employees of the Utah State Fair, their affiliates, subsidiaries, associated agencies, representatives or families of each are not eligible to compete.
Taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Contest is void where prohibited or otherwise regulated by law. Only one winning entry per household address.
The 2018 contest winner is not eligible to compete in 2019.
Judging will be based on Taste 25% Texture 25%, Creativity 25%, and Presentation 25%.
