Utah State Fair Student Competition Rules

Essay Competition:

Student MUST attend the Fair to obtain information.

Kindergarten - Third Grades:
- On 8 ½" x 11" white paper ~ draw and color a picture of your fun learning experience
at the Fair.
- Remember to use one experience.
- On the front of your picture write, or have an adult write, one sentence explaining why this
was a fun learning experience.
- Pictures without text will be disqualified.

Fourth - Sixth Grades:
- Write an essay - no longer than one page - one side - about your favorite experience at the Fair, and why. Try to focus on one particular experience.

*Entries will be judged on grade level and will be based on student's focus on
one experience and detail of why they chose that experience.*


Blue Ribbon Contest:

Fair attendance is NOT required for this competition.

Kindergarten - Third Grades:

Imagine you have won a blue ribbon. Draw and color a picture of what you did to win it. Then write, or have an adult write, one sentence explaining the activity or project you completed to win the Blue Ribbon.
- Pictures without text will be disqualified.
- Please use the form that is provided.

Fourth - Sixth Grades:
- Imagine you have won a blue ribbon. Draw a picture of what you did to win it. Then write
a short story explaining the activity or project you completed to win the Blue Ribbon.
- Stories without drawings will be disqualified.
- Please use the form that is provided.

*Entries will be judged on grade level and will be based on student's creative thinking.*
